History: The original Georgia Hunter Eduction program actually got its start in 1964. This program was made available to the general public around 1975 as a free 12 hour class. The GHEA was actually incorporated in 1986 which provided the Hunter Ed student a place to apply what they learned in the classroom.

Today,  the GHEA continues to teach young men and women the basic principles behind firearm safety, hunting ethics, treestand safety, marksmanship, and other important criteria pertaining to safety in the field.
